Mother's Day Booklets

Shaela is quite my little stamping buddy!!

We worked together to make little booklets of love for all the mothers in our lives!  We created booklets for grandmas, aunties, and sisters!

The fun part was filling them up when we were done!  Each page is a tiny pocket... perfect for wallet size pictures, tags, and even gift cards.

Enjoy the variety of booklets we made... each had it's own style and flare!  Now I need to make one for myself... and have a chance to play with my Bind-it-all machine again!

The best part about making these booklets is that they only use ONE sheet of paper!!!

Instructions can be found on Vicki's blog.

If you don't own a Bind-it-all machine, the booklets can be held together with ribbon and eyelets and other types of clips.

If you would like me to cut and score and bind a piece of SU! decorative paper for you, I certainly can!  Each booklet is $5 including shipping.

Enjoy!

Carousel Joy!

Oh JOY!!!

I don't know where I originally saw this darling purse scrapbook, but I printed out a copy and then it sat waiting for me for over a month on my workspace!  My mom came to visit and we courageously tackled figuring it all out ~ we did it!!!  Of course, then it sat for another month waiting for me to invite you to a workshop!

Now the figurin' is done for you!  I have all the little pieces and embellishments ready for you to assemble - everything is cut and scored and if you don't have the coordinating stamp set I can even pre-stamp it for you!

If you aren't able to join me tomorrow to play stamps, you can purchase the carousel purse scrapbook as a kit in the mail!
$20 ~ materials, ribbon, embellishments, instructions and postage!

Enjoy!

the crab dude!

Is it really 2008?? I have really neglected my blog! But here is why... we spent half the month of January in HAWAII Baby!

My darling husband and I celebrated our 16th anniversary in Kauai which is the same place we spent our honeymoon. It was pure delight. We went crab hunting out on a jetty and found some pretty neat little snappers. Then we also found a random crab walking along at the beach - which was stolen from us by a 12 year old surfer dude. Go figure... we let him have it and chalked one up to the Aloha Spirit. teehee

So when we returned and celebrated my husband's birthday, my favorite little crab came to mind. So this is his cute little card... an easy fold and some simple stamping with the rock n roll technique and my card was done IN A SNAP!!!

Crab & Company, Big Deal Alphas, Retro Alphas, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Real Red - all SU!

Pomegranates & Artichokes

Sound like a delicious salad combo?

Perhaps, but I'm referring to the scrumptious colors of cardstock and designer papers from SU!  tee hee

The first photo montage displays three fun gifts I'm giving this year.

One is an empty Pringles can filled with KitKat candy bars wrapped and tied with In-Color ribbons.

Then there are two wrapped KitKats displayed in a cello bag with a topper.  I think the paper looked as elegant as my dear friend Jeanne... so that is for her!

Then that adorable little matchbox dresser - Barbie sized.  Five empty boxes are stacked together, wrapped with paper, drawers lined, and brads added for draw pulls!

It is, after all, the little things in life!

Dash Away ALL!

Don't you just LOVE the Dashing designer paper too?

Starbucks Mocha bottles are transformed into a fun gift-giving idea. How many things can you think of to put inside the bottles?

Here is a starting point: erasers & thumb tacks, kisses & malt balls, cocoa powder & marshmallows

Boxes are easily made from 6x6 squares of paper... just score a tic-tac-toe, fold, staple, and embellish (of course)!

Half inch strips of paper curled around a pencil turn glass ornaments into an eye full of delight!

Recipe: Dashing paper, scallop punch, rhinestone brads, Love & Joy, real red, old olive

My Family is In-Color

I took my In-Color layout that I taught at Stampers Six and created a new one complete with family photos from Easter this year!

You will notice if you read yesterday's blog that I did not use Wasabi in this layout. The two In-Color blues plus pomegranate were a perfect color balance for these photos. You may also notice that I switched out my 12x12 cardstock and 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock colors. I am really enjoying the In-Color scheme this year!

Stamps: Be Happy, Little Pieces, Big Deal alpha
Paper: designer series paper in Soft Sky, CS Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, and Pomegranate
Accessories: Double stitch ribbon, RR brads, tag punch, circle punch

Make sure you stock up on ink refills for your stamp pads and get your coordinating cardstock and ink pads! They all go so well together!

In-Color Scrapbookin'

Hello! Here is the empty layout I designed using the wonderfully rich In-Colors by Stampin' Up! The idea behind this page is that you begin with a 6x6 layout, place that on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock and then finish embellishing on your 12x12 page. I like these progression layouts because they tend to have a very balanced color scheme. Give it a try!
Stamp Sets: Little Pieces & Be Happy
Paper: Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou, & Purely Pomegranate CS, Prints Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Tag Punch, Double Stitch Ribbon, RR & EE Brads

More Jumpin' Jingle!!!

For those of you who have purchased the Jumpin' Jingle card kit, here are a few more samples to view!
You will notice that some of the background papers have been cut in half to give a two-tone effect - decorated on top with solid cardstock color on the bottom. Others use a paper strip to add contrast. And still another uses the cute little adhesive border strips to add some fun elements!
There is still plenty of time before Christmas to purchase the card kits! And as fast as they go together, you will be ready for another kit to make birthday cards and other occasions too!

Pretty Mantis Pumpkin Patch!

My sister is CORRRRECT!!! I need to post a picture of my munchkins on my blog!

Since the temperatures dropped nearly 40 degrees yesterday, the fall chill whispered in my ear...

... GO PICK PUMPKINS!!!

So off we went to the Faux Pumpkin Patch! There is only one REAL patch in Las Vegas... and it is at the far extreme end of town and is only open during the mornings hours. So we went to the KMart shopping center pumpkin patch instead.

To our delight... the pumpkins had just arrived and were not picked over yet. We selected a nice plump pumpkin and a taller oblong pumpkin. When Shaela picked up a cute pint size pumpkin, it had a bonus gift! A little praying mantis was perched on it! She still calls this bug a 'Pretty Mantis' and I don't want to correct her... it's just too cute!
