Pomegranates & Artichokes

Sound like a delicious salad combo?

Perhaps, but I'm referring to the scrumptious colors of cardstock and designer papers from SU!  tee hee

The first photo montage displays three fun gifts I'm giving this year.

One is an empty Pringles can filled with KitKat candy bars wrapped and tied with In-Color ribbons.

Then there are two wrapped KitKats displayed in a cello bag with a topper.  I think the paper looked as elegant as my dear friend Jeanne... so that is for her!

Then that adorable little matchbox dresser - Barbie sized.  Five empty boxes are stacked together, wrapped with paper, drawers lined, and brads added for draw pulls!

It is, after all, the little things in life!

Dash Away ALL!

Don't you just LOVE the Dashing designer paper too?

Starbucks Mocha bottles are transformed into a fun gift-giving idea. How many things can you think of to put inside the bottles?

Here is a starting point: erasers & thumb tacks, kisses & malt balls, cocoa powder & marshmallows

Boxes are easily made from 6x6 squares of paper... just score a tic-tac-toe, fold, staple, and embellish (of course)!

Half inch strips of paper curled around a pencil turn glass ornaments into an eye full of delight!

Recipe: Dashing paper, scallop punch, rhinestone brads, Love & Joy, real red, old olive

My Family is In-Color

I took my In-Color layout that I taught at Stampers Six and created a new one complete with family photos from Easter this year!

You will notice if you read yesterday's blog that I did not use Wasabi in this layout. The two In-Color blues plus pomegranate were a perfect color balance for these photos. You may also notice that I switched out my 12x12 cardstock and 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock colors. I am really enjoying the In-Color scheme this year!

Stamps: Be Happy, Little Pieces, Big Deal alpha
Paper: designer series paper in Soft Sky, CS Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, and Pomegranate
Accessories: Double stitch ribbon, RR brads, tag punch, circle punch

Make sure you stock up on ink refills for your stamp pads and get your coordinating cardstock and ink pads! They all go so well together!

In-Color Scrapbookin'

Hello! Here is the empty layout I designed using the wonderfully rich In-Colors by Stampin' Up! The idea behind this page is that you begin with a 6x6 layout, place that on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock and then finish embellishing on your 12x12 page. I like these progression layouts because they tend to have a very balanced color scheme. Give it a try!
Stamp Sets: Little Pieces & Be Happy
Paper: Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou, & Purely Pomegranate CS, Prints Designer Series Paper
Accessories: Tag Punch, Double Stitch Ribbon, RR & EE Brads

More Jumpin' Jingle!!!

For those of you who have purchased the Jumpin' Jingle card kit, here are a few more samples to view!
You will notice that some of the background papers have been cut in half to give a two-tone effect - decorated on top with solid cardstock color on the bottom. Others use a paper strip to add contrast. And still another uses the cute little adhesive border strips to add some fun elements!
There is still plenty of time before Christmas to purchase the card kits! And as fast as they go together, you will be ready for another kit to make birthday cards and other occasions too!

Pretty Mantis Pumpkin Patch!

My sister is CORRRRECT!!! I need to post a picture of my munchkins on my blog!

Since the temperatures dropped nearly 40 degrees yesterday, the fall chill whispered in my ear...

... GO PICK PUMPKINS!!!

So off we went to the Faux Pumpkin Patch! There is only one REAL patch in Las Vegas... and it is at the far extreme end of town and is only open during the mornings hours. So we went to the KMart shopping center pumpkin patch instead.

To our delight... the pumpkins had just arrived and were not picked over yet. We selected a nice plump pumpkin and a taller oblong pumpkin. When Shaela picked up a cute pint size pumpkin, it had a bonus gift! A little praying mantis was perched on it! She still calls this bug a 'Pretty Mantis' and I don't want to correct her... it's just too cute!

I know! It can't be! It is already SEPTEMBER!!!

I am a bloggin' flake. To make it up, I'll share my last Stampers Six scrapbook page with you! lol
I don't generally spend this much time with embellishments on a personal scrapbooking page, but I loved being able to show a gazillion different techniques all on ONE page! AND I loved playing with the free stamp set Wanted from convention and the matching Outlaw designer paper! AND chipboard! I was in crafting heaven! teehee

Here is the page blank, BP - before pictures.

Can you find: a button, rock-n-roll technique, colored chipboard, ribbon, twine, scallop punch, paisley stamp, jumbo snap, sage eyelet, photo corner punch, star punch, paper-covered chipboard, sponging, and designer paper?

Perhaps a close-up will help!

And here is a wonderful alternate decoration to go with the Outlaw paper using the Wanted stamp set... Running Horses!
Simply put your stamp to the ink and then to the paper... DRAG it backwards! Create quite a co-motion this way!
Enjoy!

Tag: You're It!

This is my first time being tagged. Charmaine is my long lost stamping friend from the old Divas stamping group... she found me out in blogland!!! She is a total sweetheart with bubbly excitement - and Girl, she can STAMP!!!

Okay now... I need to post seven little known facts about me. Hmmm, that's tough, let's see...
1. I married my highschool sweetheart while on a mission trip to Panama!
2. I accidently vacationed for 7 hours in Fiji.
3. No furry pets at our house... we have an 80 pound African Silcada tortoise named Tank.
4. I detest ironing... in fact I had a job that lasted 2 visits assisting an Indian woman... but I was fired when I burned her husband's silk shirt.
5. I do not have cable television (which is why I have time to stamp).
6. I was on tv when I was in 6th grade - on TBN's One Way game show featuring Bible memory.
7. I use to eat peanutbutter on my hotdogs, but now I'm much more civilized and eat it on my pancakes.

There you have it. Email me and let me know how many of my seven items were 'new news' to you!

Now then... I am going to tag my two favorite people in the world:

Freedom Thanks

Thank you - all of you - who serve our country - who wear the uniform of freedom - who live and die under the colors of our flag.
These cards are on their way to Iraq for soldiers to use to write home. I pray for each soldier who uses them to communicate with loved ones... and I pray for the loved ones who are home waiting to hear from their soldier.
Happy 4th of July.

Cherished Wrap

Cherished Wrap - as in wrapping paper - ideal when you don't have the appropriate wrapping paper . I had a bit left over from last Christmas... and I'm so glad! I wanted the gift to match the card I made her (shown in a previous post). I'm loving this new set from Stampin' Up!

SU! has done it again!

It's HERE!!!! I'm tickled and thrilled to find that SU! has done it again! Every year I wonder the same thing... how could they make this catalog better than the last? And every year they DO!!!! I can't wait to share it with you!!!!!

Snappy Birthday

This little lady is from the summer mini catalog - Crab & Company. It was a 'he' lookin' crab... but a few eyelashes and some makeup made 'her' look adorable!
So if you have some birthdays to celebrate... he or she... this fun lovin' crab can help you celebrate - in a snap!

Howdy Baby Jacob!

Baby Jacob was adopted into a horse-lovin' family... so this little cowpoke will look great in his stable (I mean bedroom)!

Decorating tins is easy and fun! Your best adhesive for gravity defying projects is sticky strip. Glue dots and dimensionals work well for adding additional elements to a tin - like the ribbon and twine for a lasso.

There are so many great ways to use these once some paper has been glued on. This tin is holding 8 photo dividers for the first year until Mommy has time to scrapbook them (which amazingly I think she is caught up so far!!!)... and it also holds a plaid shirt and denim shorts.

Can you think of ten more uses for a personalized tin?

Beautiful Baroque

I loooove being a demonstrator and PRE-ORDERING goodies!!!!

SU! was awesome and gave us all an extra discount on the stamps in the preview catalog... so of course I ordered them all! Now they are all cut out and happily asking me to play with them! No problem!!!

My backdrop is the new Brocade designer series paper... double sided for double pleasure. The card is stamped on shimmery white cardstock with the new Baroque Motifs set in Gold Encore metallic ink and the new in-color Purely Pomegranate. Add some Pomegranate Palette O'Prints paper, wine organdy ribbon, and vintage brads for finishing touches.

Father's Day Folds

I love folding clothes... when they are made out of our new palette o'prints paper!!! In fact, I seem to have turned all the household chores into stamping techniques. The iron is for wax resist, the mopping cleaner adds shine to my projects, bleach works great on dark cardstock, the oven is for polyshrink, and the blender is for handmade paper! lol

I had fun uisng the old in-color Vintage Violet and the new in-colors Soft Sky and Pomegranate!! Don't they look nice and crisp together? If you live nearby, come on over Thursday night and we'll make this card together.

I had not posted in awhile... technical difficulties. But as they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat (is that the right saying... why would you want to do that?). I can't connect my camera to my computer, the scanner and computer aren't talking, the computer won't read the USB memory stick where my photos are stored as I could only download to the computer without internet access... urgh! So... that new little camera on the computer will have to take my card photos for now! I feel like a 'MacGyveress' having figured that one out!

All Year Cheer II, Circle of Friendship, Vintage Brads,Violet Stitched Ribbon - all items by SU!

Spell That?

Thunderclap - did I hear you right? Could you please spell that??? OooooooooooK!
My brother and his wife are adopting a baby - THIS WEEK. However, they will not reveal the name they have selected, if they even have one chosen yet! So my sillyhead bro began referring to the baby as Thunderclap Neuman!
This card coordinates with a blanket my friend made (don't you love doing that?) for the baby shower. I think this is the happiest color on earth - this Cool Carribbean. But to put it next to Chocolate Chip makes it even yummmmmier.
Charlie has some adorable baby goodies at sweetbabytot.com that you will want to check out!!! I never did learn how to sew... took a class but my mom finished all my projects for me - usually at a very unreasonable hour. Yeah Mom!

Mooooood Lift

I pulled out an old favorite retired set the other day.

My Scottish cyber-stamping, bovine-loving friend needed a bit of cheer if even for a brief moment.

Enter the COW.

Who doesn't love cows - espcially one in a floral moo-moo??!! A little tilt of the hand and this cow was sure to 'lift' her moooooood...

I was udderly excited to hear that it did just that!!!

Neigh-bor

Howdy Neigh-bor!

Devin and I enjoyed making this personalized journal together for a neighborhood friend who is a huge horse enthusiast!

It was a fun gift to give... Logann is 9 years old and can't wait to start her horse diary using a different tab for each of her favorite horses down at the ranch! She was especially delighted to have her name on the front as she doesn't find many items that spell her name like she does.
Ooooo... I can agree with that! I remember turning many a display rack of items only to find Shannon and Shawna but, alas, no SHAUNA!
And never with an exclamation mark!!!!!

Puffy Bride

I love weddings! AND I love the Puffy Bride - I simply adore her! LOL!! Not that anyone would want to be called that... but she is the prettiest Puffy Bride!

This sweet card is a bridal shower invitation I helped Bobbie Garcia make. Didn't she do a great job?? Sweet Bobbie had NEVER stamped before... and just look what she created!!!

She stamped Happily Ever After on white cs and then chalked in the flowers and bride. She stamped with Silver Encore ink on vellum (actually we ended up using hearts in the background on the final version) and set it all on Elegant Eggplant with a Pale Plum tag. Delightful!

The best part, as always, was sitting and chatting and laughing and discovering things about each other. For instance... we both married our high school sweethearts... how charming!

Blah Blah Blah Blog

I would like to begin my new blog by typing complete and udder nonsense to test my new posting abilities!!!

So... blah blah blah BLOG (kinda like duck duck duck GOOSE).

Doodley oodley bloggety oggety boo!
Shaela's hand was the maximum size for this Stamp With Me Mommy project from Charlie's house. I couldn't believe her hand filled a 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" square! Good thing we captured her hand at this age. Shaela stamped her hand in Camel Spit (aka Versamark) and chalked with a cotton ball. Her name and embellishments are featured in the Spring Mini - Doodle This and Doodle Alphabet.
